Wynne's Diary

Wynne in playful mood in 1898, at the time of her "affair" with Charles. She is enacting a very popular Victorian theme - before and after. There are plenty of china ornaments with the same theme - a young girl kissing a dove in one moulding, and mourning its death in another...


Below you can see Wynne much more strait-laced, sitting looking out into the garden at Brookfield, while her governess, B.G.Scratchley sitting on the left, and her mother in the centre smile to the camera. This was probably taken around the same time, or a little earlier.
